The focus of English Language Arts is the development of skills within the six language arts.
The six language arts are comprised of reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing and visually representing. Traditionally, there has been more emphasis on the first four skills, but as we navigate an increasingly digital world, viewing and visually representing has become increasingly important.
Current events for kids. Read entertaining and age appropriate news stories online. DogoNews also features movie and book reviews writter for kids, by kids.
Virtual reading community for kids. Students can create a digital bookshelf, share thoughts on the books they're reading and see what other kids are reading around the world. Requires sign-in but otherwise free resource. Excellent site to get your child excited to read.
